What is a BMP file?
A BMP file is an image file format commonly used in Windows. It is a lossless image format, which means that no quality is lost when saving or editing the image. However, BMP files tend to be larger than other image formats, such as JPG or PNG, which can be a problem if you need to email the image or upload it to a website.
This tool allows you to convert a BMP file to a JPG, PNG, or WebP file, which are more common image formats and generally smaller than BMP files.
How does it work?
1
Select one or more BMP files you want to convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP by dragging and dropping them into the upload area or clicking the button: Click to select files. The images will be processed locally in your browser, they will not be uploaded to any server.
2
Once you have selected your files, they will be displayed in a small file manager. You can remove files you do not want to convert or add more files. You can process up to 30 files at a time.
3
If you click on a file, a sidebar will open with a preview of the image and buttons to specify the format as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
Next to these buttons you will find the Save as ... button that will allow you to convert the image to the selected format and download it.
4
If you want to convert all files at once, simply select the desired format at the bottom of the screen and click the Process button and a zip file with all the converted files will be generated.
